Sung Hwan Park, Ph.D. is a research scientist in the eco-remediation Group at the Materials Discovery Research Institute. His work focuses on the accelerated discovery of micro‑ and mesoporous, amorphous, and crystalline materials using high‑throughput methodologies to address global eco‑remediation challenges, including atmospheric water harvesting, adsorption‑driven energy systems, and carbon capture.

During his doctoral research, Park focused on the development of novel phosphate‑based zeolitic materials, with strong interests in material synthesis, crystallization mechanisms, characterization, and applications in carbon capture. As a postdoctoral scholar at the State University of New York at Buffalo, he led projects on zeolite membrane synthesis for ammonia separation and the design of prototype membrane reactors for green hydrogen production. He joined the Materials Discovery team in 2024.

Park holds a B.S. in chemical and biochemical engineering from Dongguk University and a Ph.D. in environmental science and engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology. He was a visiting scholar at KU Leuven.
