Federico Venturi, Ph.D. is a research scientist in the accelerated methodologies group at the Materials Discovery Research Institute. His work focuses on developing the laboratories’ automation capabilities through a combination of system integrations and custom solutions involving robotics to increase the throughput capabilities of the research center.
During his Ph.D., Venturi researched advanced design optimization in metal additive manufacturing, improving the reliability of 3D printed aluminum, titanium, and steel components through pore formation mitigation. Additionally, Venturi has experience in the automotive industry, working at the Nissan Technical Center North America to improve high-speed liquid polymer additive manufacturing methods for use in end-use products.
Venturi holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from California State University, Sacramento and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
