Akif Manzoor is a full stack developer at the Materials Discovery Research Institute, where he supports the data science team by building scientific software that accelerates materials innovation. His work centers on transforming research workflows into scalable, production‑ready digital tools that empower scientists to make faster, data‑driven decisions.

Prior to joining the institute, Akif developed a strong foundation as a full stack developer through extensive industry roles, startups, and personal projects. Over the years, he’s built modern web, mobile and cloud technologies, familiarizing himself with the React, Node.js, Python, Docker, and CI/CD systems.
His early career included internships at organizations such as Ericsson, Tyto Robotics, and the Canada Revenue Agency, where he contributed to automation, system optimization, and enterprise software development. He later served as a full stack developer at Achievers, and digital operations lead at Jet Automation Inc.

Akif holds a B.A.Sc. in computer engineering from the University of Ottawa.
